Wondering whether or not to add this to the safe. Its had a very nice refinish and all matching apart from the un-numbered cleaning rod.

I have a 1920 example with Soderin diopter sights. Lovely rifles and the 6.5x55 is a great cartridge to shoot.
What does the disc say and how does the bore look?

Re: Swedish M96
The discs are notoriously unreliable indicators of bore condition.
They refer to the rifle when it was last checked in service, the lord alone knows what has gone down/been done to the barrel since then and leaving service, further there is no guarantee the stock disc on the rifle even belongs to that rifle, much can happen over time.

The disc says condition 1 and 6.49mm. The bore is excellent.

There are Chinese copies of the disk available on Ebay.dromia wrote:The discs are notoriously unreliable indicators of bore condition.

I picked up a 96 and a 96/38 about 6 weeks ago, both disks indicate zero bore wear and 6.49 bores. They look nice and sharp, hope actual shooting will bear this out and the disks aren't the before mention Chinese knock offs.

Disc on ebay is a very crude copy.
