Sorry, I do know what 'CT' is...I just wanted to hear Dromia explain it :P

There's a brilliant spoof song on the subject, that goes to the tune of 'down in Cocomo' by the Beach Boys - which I couldn't post the link to here (ladies present) - but you'd probably find it on youtube if you really wanted to.....

Chuck wrote:So....Does watching beach ball gloryify watching hot bikini clad females with bouncing boobs playing in the sand? hardly the stuff for hormone loaded adolescents to be watching is it.

still, it makes it easier for MP's to snog them afterwards
How can you make even the beautiful sport of beach volleyball political

Spot on. I deliberately don't quote people like him when I write about this sort of thing - after all, these little groups never have more than 12 members. You don't see newspapers quoting drug dealers defending what they do!

Short email to Boris

Mister Mayor,

No doubt you think you are doing the right thing.

Why?

Please give me one good reason.

Regards

John Gardener

I'll let you know if I get a reply but I think I'll be :cool2:

Christel also mailed someone on this yesterday, so far all she has had is a reply saying they will reply in the next 20 days... :bad:

I'm not holding my breath! My suspicious mind tells me that Boris is getting his instructions from the people who pull his strings.

Appologies for sidetracking this important thread last night

I'm very glad to see that the decision was reversed, and that the matter didn't slip under the radar - and well done to all the people and organisations who responded so quickly

I'd still like to hear the response (if one comes) from Boris though....

Great to see this important story has been discussed over here - I covered it on my clay shooting website over the last few days, including an open letter that I have sent to Boris Johnson, The London 2012 team and the mayors Head of Media - you can read that letter at http://shootclay.co.uk/2011/08/23/an-op ... cketshare/

The story was also picked up in the US - and NRAnews interviewed me last night get some further insight.

I recieved the same auto response from BoJo's office - and I'm still waiting for a reply - I'm not holding out a huge amount of hope.

Has commosense prevailed then....was it pressure and questions from abroad or from us in general.

I have received a response from Boris, or more truthfully, from someone who can send emails in his name.

It says, in a nutshell, that we have been mis-informed. That Boris isn't against children watching the shooting sports. That "He has no doubt that the games will raise the profile of these demanding and tense sports in the UK and beyond."

Raise the profile? Methinks I don't much care for 'Raise the profile'

I would have preferred raise the enthusiasm, or promote the availability or something a little less ambiguous!

Ah well, at least I got an response.

Boris, I apologise for doubting you.

psssst! not only our friends read this site - say hello to all our friends at Cheltenham

gun,bomb,explosion - it's reverse echelon at Bisley this week-end.
