DRPC 28/11

#1 Post by Mike357 »

What a horrible day up here!

Seawolf and I arrived at the range to find one other person there! We decided to cut the grass first as it hadn't been done for weeks, I got lumbered with that but needed to be done as we have a comp next week. Looks nice with the grass cut! Another member arrived and we were 4!

After a cut of tea to wash all the grass and crap out of my mouth we did a bit of shooting. Re zeroed the RM 10/22 with SK Lapua Std Plus ammo. Impressed with the 25yd groups but I had a couple of FTFs and a couple of feed problems but that is probably due to the mags now needing stripped and cleaned. Cant't make up my mind whether to get more SK HV.

Shot a borrowed carbine as I didn't take mine, you know what it is like shooting borrowed guns.

Finally two prospective members (father & son) turned up for a look around and left all smiles and looking to join. They found out about throug the web site so that will be the first members to join vis the site.

Yep they have joined and we have another 3 prospects in the pipeline all as a result of the web site. So if they convert then the membership will have risen by about 10% with the corresponding increase in fee subscriptions. So all good.

It was brought up at our last AGM about setting up a website so to increase the profile of the club and hopefully bring in much needed members. It was almost totally poo pooed, very few even took a look at the sample one that had been set up for them to look at.
