Best place to get brass

Hi all

I’m returning to shooting and reloading after a decade away, and I’m wondering where the best place to get used brass is?

Last time I bought any was off eBay but I think they stopped people selling it on there.

I’ll be looking for around 400 used cases, (maybe not all at once) anyone have a good supplier?

What caliber? There's often 308 for sale on here.

Used brass? Really? Start off with brand new brass. You never know how many times s/h brass has been fired and in what rifle - i.e. headspace might be over spec and brass could be stressed. A 100 new Lapua 308 cases will cost you about £70 and you'll get at least 6 firings - then anneal for another six.

He sells good quality PPU brass for most calibres, for example, a 100 .308 Winchester cases will set you back £42 and a 100 .303 are £43.50.

S/h brass is not always good value as it depends what sort of stresses it has already been put through.

I've bought around 25,000 used cases, loaded up to six times before being 'parked' for future annealing, and have never seen any hint of any of the issues you warn against.
I couldn't imagine surviving on 100 cases, or paying as much as 1p per case per firing, or a situation where I'd want to buy new brass when it's available once-fired.

I shoot F Class with a 308 once per fortnight - 25 rounds. I usually buy a new box of 100 the the beginning of the season and anneal after three or four firings. In between I shoot lots of other stuff - benchrest, tactical, military etc but few comps need more 30 rounds.
