From a very quick read I see no evidence of any restoration being made or mentioned, but maybe
Mr Dallas will put our enquiring minds at rest.

Donald Dallas from my point of view has put this idea of restoration firmly to bed!

OK, thank you for clarifying that. I did hear of a gun of similar providence having some repairs or restoration to the woodwork before leaving this country, obviously it was a different example :)
