45acp bolt rifle
Hi can anyone tell me the options for a 45 bolt action rifle. I know delisle carbines are available but I couldn’t justify the price tag. So I’d like to build my own silenced 45 carbine. Thanks
Re: 45acp bolt rifle
I once shortened the mag tube on a Winchester underlever in .45LC. Screwcut the barrel. Added a simple can. I used to reload using a very heavy bullet from .454 casul if I remember rightly. It was amazing. Hammer click and impact on steel target was all you heard ! Anotber one I regret selling.

There’s a chap at our club who has one built on a No.4. Another chap has a 30 M1 based on a No.4 action. Forget who did the work, will do some digging.

They made pistol calibre rifles on No4 actions after the ban, they also took out a 30 carbine version.
Excellent firearms I have had a few over the years, the .45ACO being my favourite, I believe JJVC on here has it.
They were always expensive but due to their scarcity they seem to be very expensive s/h now.

Re: 45acp bolt rifle
I’m really hankering for a truly quiet fullbore rifle for up to 100yds, now to be honest I’d like a bolt but would consider a under lever . What round would be best ie 357/44/45acp etc just looking at suggestions as this plan is in the planning stage. Also can yous suggest a rifle builder to do this type of work. I’d like the rifle as compact as possible so I understand a moderator would maybe need to be pinned. Also would like a red dot attached . Thanks

There are always cartridges like the 300 Whisper, 300 AAC blackout or the 7.62x 39 which all perform well at subsonic velocities but have a better selection of calibre bullets for out to 100 yrds.
