Re: .308 rifle suggestions please
I have 3 x howas 2 in 243 and one in 308 fantastic rifles for the money the 243,s are heavy 20" barrels the 308 sporter is 18" and yes its very accurate, cant fault them, now at the range the other week for sale came a stainless t3 varmint that i know hasnt shot a lot of ammo and it could shoot clover leaf groups and all data available i had a chance to shoot it and first dibs at buying it,i have a 223 tikka t3 its smooth and accurate so i know what the tikkas are capable of,but i just couldnt part with my howas or one for one either of them for the tikka,if i was just starting out ide probably go tikka, but i didnt and dont regret it.

Have kept my eyes open but only seen ones well outside my price range!Hunter87 wrote:Second hand Sako TRG

2nd hand remmy 700, and new glass. Even better if the previous owner spent money modifying it. Look at the bushnell DMR range of scopes. For the money it out performs most other scopes in that price range, and some that cost even more!

Re: .308 rifle suggestions please
Just got a Savage 12 in .308 with 26" stainless barrel, 1 in 12 twist.
Shoots brilliantly and often an overlooked make of rifle.
Topped it off with an Athlon Argos BTR 6-24x50 and have to say that the scope far exceeds may other more common makes that one finds around.

I don't think you can go wrong with Savage - they shoot all out of proportion to their price point.
Re: .308 rifle suggestions please
