I've been shooting the all-weather version of this for about twelve years.

The twist rate on mine is one in twelve, there was a tighter twist available on the T3.

The maximum bullet weight that mine would stabilise was 55gn, despite much load development with nosler 60gn partitions I could not get the group size down to what these rifles are capable of. Nosler 55gn ballistic tips are excellent though, a more suitable ogive/bearing surface I suppose.

If you are enjoying the smooth action, try a dab of grease on the rear of the bolt lugs before you put the rifle away. I gave a friend of mine a try of my m595 and he shoots his sako 75 a lot, he said it was surprisingly smooth, I think because there's less resistance from the two lug bolt.

Mounts - fortunate you have weaver bases on your rifle, I've been through various incarnations of opti-lock set up and the allen bolts are invariably made of a type of metal with the consistency of chocolate and give me no end of grief when I'm trying to apply my preferred torque settings. There's better mounts out there, so your fortunate you don't need to use them with those bases.

I think the serial numbers might be sequential on sako manufactured rifles, so you might be able to work out the age of your rifle with a little searching online.

I have one too - started out as a .243 but the barrel was worn - Bradders at Bradley Arms popped on a .308 Border barrel screw cut at 16" and topped off with an Ase Utra.

Only had it out once ( apart from zeroing ) since the barrel change and only fired one shot - which harvested me a nice Fallow.

Lovely rifle, and with the short barrel / mod still retains nice balance.

My only complaint is the single stage trigger as I prefer two stage - but its still a quality trigger so I will try to learn to live with it.

If you wind down the trigger to 2lb they're pretty crisp.

If that still isn't cutting it it used to be possible to get a YoDave trigger spring sent from Canada through ebay. They make the trigger pull quite a bit lighter.

I have one in .223 but rarely shoot it preferring my BSA 222s.

However I do have the 595 223 away with me for some load development with Hornady 55gn Vmax and N120, I have misplaced my original load data so decided to give it another try before I decide whether or not to sell it.

Lovely rifle, nice Leupold scope, but when you have 222s 223s just seem superfluous. It is a classic however which is why I have kept it so long, I am trying to reduce my collection by getting rid of those I don't shoot but that just seems to make me shoot them. Looks like I need to find another reason to let them go.

have both 222 and 223 slots on my cert, saw a cz527 in 222 but wasnt for me,once i saw this tikka

might still get a one ,have one or 2 to let go also, bp stuff.
just got some remington accutip 55gr to try at the mo
