I've just bought dies to reload / reform 223 brass so I guess I'm committed to the project now.

From what I remember, the 6x45 was developed in order to give the AR platform a little more performance in a magazine feedable format only requiring a barrel change. Since those days though, there has been a myriad of work and a plethora of cartridges developed for the AR that are just so much better than the .223 or the 6x45 for that matter.

For S&G, fill your boots with your new project. But, if looking for an improvement over .223 chambering you won’t get it with a 6x45 as long, heavy, fast twist .22cal beat it bullet for bullet.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

.224 Valkyrie is the one I'm most interested in. It's necked down 6.8SPC case launching a 90gr .224 projectile. So far the specs look good and should be a fairly cheap 1000 yard rifle, cheaper bullets and smaller powder charge, early data suggests still supersonic well past 1000 yards.
