GGG .308 Crimped primers?
Hi all. Do the GGG .308 Cases have crimped primers like the 7.62 ones.

Thanks, I was hoping that being the civilian equivalent of the 7.62 they weren’t.

Its quite easy to remove the crimp if you want to reuse the cases for re loading. I do it all the time.
Don't let the fact that they are crimped put you off. Its good reusable brass and you can usually pick it up cheaply.

Re: GGG .308 Crimped primers?
I have been shooting GGG 7.62 for a while now, but thought that if I swapped to the .308 I would not have to remove the crimp to reload. But as I have a few hundred 7.62, I might as well decrimp and use them.
Thanks for the help

Not necessarily - if it's fired brass then it depends who loaded it. Brass loaded at the GGG factory is usually crimped. GGG Brass supplied to ammo makers who don't crimp (like HPS) isn't crimped.REMF wrote:Hi all. Do the GGG .308 Cases have crimped primers like the 7.62 ones.
Left: GGG case first loaded by HPS - never crimped.
Right: GGG case first loaded by GGG (as NRA Imperial) - crimped.

Re: GGG .308 Crimped primers?
I have had a PM from Keithkilvo1, sorry I cannot reply to you as I am new on here I am not allowed to use PM’s until I have made a number of posts. Thanks but I have a large quantity of 7.62 to use, I was just being lazy regarding decrimping them.
