New bipod for my CSR rifle.

#1 Post by breacher »

Been using my Type A ( top rail mounted ) Phoenix Bipod with ski feet on both LMT and BAR15 so far. That will now stay on the LMT but have decided to try a more traditionally mounted Type B bipod using one of my universal spigots ( designed to be screwed/bolted to a traditional wood stock or stocks where no rail is available ) on the rail-free Samson forend fitted to my main CSR rifle. Gives a slightly lower position. Trying the spiked feet rather than the ski feet as I suspect they might be better suited to CSR where you dont have time to get your bipod exactly where you want - you go prone in a hurry and your bipod needs to cope with the surface you are presented with. I feel the spikes will be a better choice here.

I must get down to Diggle at some point and at least watch a CSR match being shot, I literally can't fathom the course of fire/nature of the competition wtf

Everything i'd seen to date seemed to lean to keeping the rifle light, fairly low power optics and shooting mainly unsupported (but for some reason people rarely using slings to help even though they're allowed?!). This set up seems to go directly against this? 5mith I know there's different divisions/classes but this looks radically different

Breacher, when you've taken it out, I'd be interested to see how you found the difference with spikes.
Can imagine you're going to see an advantage on soft ground, but any of the hard stuff you may lose traction. Either way would be interested to know how you find it.

CSR is a winter league. All grass ranges. All soft.

Will update once I have used it in Dec match.
