I have 500 .357 SWC bullets in 180gn, I can't find any load data that keeps them under the 475 FPE limit my range has, some help or a point in the right direction would be most appreciated.
They're going to be used in a 16" Winchester 94 trapper.
Thanks

And the information you provided, 180gr projectile and FPE of 475, the calculated velocity to achieve this energy is 1,090 fps. There is plenty of data on Ramshot website under .357 magnum for lead bullets at 180gr, but there's not much within the velocity limit. There is a load with Accurate No2 powder and a 187gr lead bullet which produces a starting velocity of 855fps from a 6" barrel which might be suitable.
There is also load data on Reload Swiss' website (RS Loading Data, not customer) for .38 special using RS12 and RS20 powders to produce starting velocities of 459fps and 568fps respectively, from a 7.5" barrel. But this is with a 180gr H&N coated bullet.
Due to you having a longer barrel compared to loaded data, you would need to chrono your loads.

Haven't got either of those powders, I've been using 158gn with titegroup and getting decent groups.
Got Unique and lil'gun as well, I've got access to a chrono so can check anything I shoot.

5.0gns of HS6 worked well, but I used all of your HS6 up!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
