Discount ammunition
Is there a demand for discount ammo supply?
Thinking of a model where ammunition is sold in bulk at a discount but stored in a magazine by an RFD, then dispensed to the shooter as his Fac purchase limits allow.

Re: Discount ammunition
But will people buy in bulk to get it cheaper??
Re: Discount ammunition
Whenever my local supermarket has a promotion on tinned beans I buy a years supply and they let me drop in every week to collect 10 tins !
Re: Discount ammunition
It is already practised to a degree by some RFDs, we have a few customers who order in bulk and then draw down on the stock as and when required.

Re: Discount ammunition
So how does that work when you have the GTA distance selling rule that seems to say that you cannot buy anything restricted by the firearms act unless you have permission for it on your FAC. Surely buying ammunition over your authorisation even although you don't store it breeches that principle?

We have a commitment only from the buyer which is not the same thing.

Re: Discount ammunition
That would seem fine then as is no money changes hands until the point of collection within the FAC limits so title is transferred then. But would paying for the bulk ammunition, beyond their authorisation, up front breech the principle and be illegal?
So buying in bulk beyond the FAC holding wouldn't be allowed?
If you had multiple people each contributing to a bulk buy with their allowance that should work but be a bugger to manage.

Re: Discount ammunition
My FAC only says I can possess up to x amount. It says nothing about how much I can buy.dromia wrote:So how does that work when you have the GTA distance selling rule that seems to say that you cannot buy anything restricted by the firearms act unless you have permission for it on your FAC.
