After a quick flight after work from Gatwick to Prague, I welcomed some members of my shooting club who made it over to the CR for some pistol shooting .
The range we used this time was in Vrazkov about 30 miles from Prague . Pistols were the theme, so a selection of hand guns were provided, including some revolvers for those missing the pre-97 ban, ie : a sub-nose S&W 38 sp, a 3's French Manhurin MR73 357 and a S&W 44 and the usual selection of pistols, classic vintage & recent in all sort of calibers ranging form 32 to 45.

The week-end was pure recreational, not a class, so the static shooting was taking place, according to Czech Law, under the supervisions of 2 local RO friends, both ex-paras. Saturday was pistols only, with most people trying them all & having informal & friendly "challenges" on a wide range of either static or moving targets.
Personnaly I focused on using my CzP01 Omega both for pure 25 meters accuracy on static targets and "fast" practical shooting from holster on moving ones. I also had the pleasure to instruct our less experience shooter with a Beretta 22Lr (ex-IDF stock, so I assume Mossad issued). By the end of the week-end I was delighted with her progresses and she was consistently & confidently hitting a 6 inches target at 15/18 yards . "Skutecny Ostrostrelec" ... Result !!

Both the Uzi & Skorpio proved very enjoyable & accurate in her hands.

Maybe, she was just inspired by the all "no Nonsense" attitude very much prevalent in the CR nowdays...

Anyway ... the weather was very cold with frequent snow falls & the bar of the club was providing a much appreciated place for tea & breaks as well as serving us traditional "Czech comfort food". We got quite lucky as a deer recently killed by a local member had made its way on the menu... so a delicious "Srnci Gulash" was served.

Sunday was a little less frantic, probably due to the Prague bars "cultural visit" we had the night before. However, it was very much the same with, in the afternoon, the added opportunity to try some rifles the way they were intended & that we can not enjoy in the UK

(semi-auto only)
Time came too fast & it was time to head back to the UK, enabling the participants the pleasure to go back to work on monday looking forward a 22lr LBP pistols next WE

Buh zehnej Ceskoslovensko !
