AR15/M4 question
I have an AR15/M4 and have a problem on loading a round into the chamber. The loading seems a bit rough but works OK. If I load a round into the chamber then extract it without firing I see 2 scores on the tip of the bullet. This is obviously caused by the tip of the bullet hitting the engagement slots as it enters the chamber. I have tried to smooth these a bit but it's still happening. So is it normal to get scores on the bullet tips? I also find that some bullet types are smooth and others are a bit rough when entering the chamber. The smooth bullets seem to be a bit shorter in length.
Re: AR15/M4 question
What weight bullet and build length? Do you see this with factory ammunition as well?
Re: AR15/M4 question
It happens with 3 different types of factory ammunition, Hornady, M193 and a bulk 223 (can't remember the name). The Hornady works fine.

Re: AR15/M4 question
Who built the rifle,
Reason I ask some years ago I had a Decade Corp AR-15/M4 Rifle built on standard mil-spec upper and lower with a standard T-handle rear charger, I had the same issue, to correct the problem I had the chamber area worked on by SGC they sorted it from then on no marks on the bullets and smooth feeding of every round.

Re: AR15/M4 question
Looks to be a mil-spec upper and lower as BamBam says may need the feed ramps worked on to smoth things out, like I had done on my Decade.
Looks to be a nice rifle....
