It's a very good idea to have a spare I am hoping to get a friend of mine to make one to see what is involved as it may be worth making a few for the UK market as US dealers get more and more worried about shipping abroad.

If he can make one and its made not made out of monkey metal like the original and does not cost more than the gun is worth I am in the market for one. I'm guessing it would have to be a CNC job.

years ago, i had the very same problem om my 1894 .44 winchester wrangler large loop. The metal of the shell carrier is poor quality and the carrier snaps when the lever is over zealously wracked on an empty gun. At the time, York Guns had spare carriers. Maybe the guy who makes the aftermarket Marlin carrier, can do the same for the Winchester.

And while he's at it, we could do with a run of ejectors for the .357 Winchester 94.

Happy to confirm that thanks to the great advice on here, replacement part was ordered from the US and mate was charged £70 all delivered.

Having watched a few Youtube videos I offered to give it a go and 20 mins later carrier was fitted. Ran a few dummy rounds through it and, touch wood, no problems and no additional fettling required.

Good result - Firearms in general are fairly basic machines. If you take them apart carefully and note where everything goes, they usually go back together ok.
