Very valid post though Phil. I have shot with many people some I feel totally comfortable with and others, well lets just say I try to keep big gaps between us. That can be a personality thing or shooting style or reloading concern, some people are just not cut out for shooting. To this day I try to learn something every time I take a rifle to a range and I hope I can keep learning for the next 'X' number of years :D

Reloading is a scary area, when I started I just read as much as I could, listened to people and then went for it (Carefully) It was a hugely stressful time pulling the trigger on my first ever hand loaded round. These days I feel confident of my reloading ability and I am happy to share my experiences with the majority of people.

People who do not listen, do not ask, know everything and choose the maximum safe load from the internet and add X% are a liability and best avoided.

I've been reloading since the 70s and I still maintain records, check with them every time I start a new batch and double check set up.

Nope. No shooting for a while - combination of work, snow and a snapped ligament in my ankle.
The last time I was on the range I was shooing the Ishapore with some milsurp 7.62 and the recoil was causing a tendon in ankle to dislocate over the ankle bone! :o

I then stopped for the day.

Having said that, I'm positively crawling the walls to try my Destroyer!

Outdoor rifle range cancelled last weekend (the Army is scared of snow apparently :? ) and the annual Xmas comp this Sunday has also been cancelled. :( The PSG practice session Saturday gone was cancelled but managed to get out on the clays yesterday, standing in 3ft of snow certainly gives you a solid stance!

Went clay shooting at Rishton - glorious weather. Travelled athe first few miles in dense fog, which lifted as we passed through Rossendale. Excellent from there onwards.

As Rob said....always keep a record. Everything is written down here in this house. What is being reloaded, what is being shot, when where and how. Always. This is mainly for our own sake but also if we get a surprise visit from the firearms officer.

Just a point of interest, we used a chrony to give us a fair indication when we were getting near factory loaded performance, then some nuggit just about destroyed it by shooting the diffusers legs off it. Moral to the story, don't lend your tackle to a bloody nuggit, its just not worth the hassle.

I use a CED M2 so the read out is with me instead of part of the chrono, touch wood it has been OK so far. I do tend to lend it out a fair bit as it is one of those things that are nice to use but I only need it occasionally, in fact I tend to use my load data to calculate my drops at a given distance (Say 800 yards) from there I can calculate the MV and confirm my drops at other distances.

I do tend to lend it out bit, however I am very selective about who uses it
