I just use 5 rounds of each load at .5gr increments, find the one that groups the best and that's me done :)

Historically for .308 I've done loads of .3gr, or .2gr for .223, increments from the maximum -10%

I'll often cross reference quick load to make sure I'm getting towards 100% powder burn in the barrel (I'm not looking for fireballs) for the maximum load.

I'll usually shoot 4 rounds at each, looking at the 3 round group size, where I call any flyers (I haven't historically rested the rear in load development, occassionally I pull a shot).

If I find a node that's on at 2 loads close to each other, I may investigate to .1gr around those loads with additional groups.

Under 0.5MOA when shooting the initial 4 rounds, I won't usually bother to tinker much more.

I don't mess with the OAL once I've chosen it, It confuses me of those that do. If you've found the powder measure that works, and then start messing with the over all length or seating depth, won't that then nullify the powder charge as it changes the internal pressure of the cartridge?

sub 1/4 MOA groups are impressive, but for the shooting I generally do at 300-600 yards on TR targets, it's overkill.
