Tis taketh M14/M1A or AR10 magazines, though the one that comes with it is the Mossberg plastic, "Thunder-pattern". Though the magazine does "wobble" when it's clicked in home. But I guess that's part of the design? wtf Why I don't know - the magazine's home, and no amount of yanking with pull the mag out, so it's in there properly.

I'm very happy with my Ruger .223 scout rifle. As it sits in this picture it has $200 worth of upgrades (machined aluminum trigger/magazine housing and NEGC rear sight) so to duplicate it could be a tad expensive. The handguard and flash hider are custom features also.

You can mount a scope on the forward rail (removed for the handguard) or on the integral scope mount points on the receiver.
