I wonder if we can use the "its not guns that kill, its the owner" argument here, to some extent ?

I imagine, that its not the AR that is the cause of the bickering, it is some of the owners.

It would not surprise me if those concerned troll to the same extent on other matters - the AR is probably incidental to their need to stir things up.

In all probability Brian you are right. I think it probably has something to do with a bit of jealousy by some over popularity as well, and the fact that some of the builders are well known/liked or disliked/colourful characters.

I would suggest 2 people to buy from because their products work and I know them personally, nothing more to it than that. Other rifles are available and they work.

Either that or a sectarian is simply a sectarian regardless of what he shoots or not shoot ... It is not only in shooting circles & if it was not about rifles, it would be about cars or the size of his . I belong to 2 different clubs separated by the Channel and keep witnessing the same nonsensical .
Sadly, I came-up to the conclusion that some shooters are truly their worst ennemies

If people want a comment about my rifle I can give it, but its over 6 years old, and as with anything any supplier US or UK based qualitity control can be an issue at times.

On top of that as you say some dealers slating another brand because they don't sell it is pathetic, one RFD was slating another about his military past I didn't care about that I wanted a lego gun, an AR that I can easily adapted and change for me and my son.

I can give answers on my rifle and its make from 6 years ago, or looks against others, but with regards to usability etc haven't a scooby I haven't owned the rest.

ARSP as said are becoming popular in the states due to state laws and also as a hunting platform, quicker to get off a second shot than a bolt, the safety of a bolt but the advantages of a lego platform on the AR.

Am I a tier one operator? no, am I a military wannabe? no, am I after a nice comfortable rifle I can reconfigure? yes.

I've a five year old CMMG in .22 which is 25,000 rounds in and four firing pins, most reliable .22 I've ever had and I've had most of the popular ones.

Also a Lantac ARSP which shoots .75 if I do my bit.

It's great to be able to slap the CMMG .22 upper on my Lantac lower with its hiperfire trigger from time to time, push the accuracy a bit!

Very similar experience with my two Spikes, both with upwards of 20000 rounds thought them and no FP issue yet. I have heard various stories since, but my two are sweet.

When purchasing check for spares, the FP's for my spikes are hard to get hold of due to them being custom, lucky I have 3 spares :)

My SKS is classed as a "Manual Loading Rifle" or MLR.
