Bulgarians have the reputation to be very well made. The short ARSF are very popular in France & all their owners I know are very happy with them. Usual debate but I agree with tovarich Snayperskaya, ie : an AK plateform is chambered in 7,62x39 or 7,62x45. Part of the pleasure of shooting such rifle is of course the frugal cost of ammo & mags.

You wouldn't get it out of the country!.

If you spent some time with paper work you will have no problems with buying and shipping.
At first you should prepare all papers for importing to UK. Than you shall contact with UK embassy in Russia and send a request for receiving a Russian licence. There is no limits for non residents for buying hunting weapons in Russia but you shall receive a licence.

There are sanctions on Saiga's Parent company by the US and UK governments that would stop you being able to take it back the uk, you can buy no problem there, but getting it back here will screw you over.

There are sanctions on Saiga's Parent company by the US and UK governments that would stop you being able to take it back the uk, you can buy no problem there, but getting it back here will screw you over.

You must understand the laws and sanctions.
You are the person, if you are not in the sunction list , you shall have no problems to import your property.
Just sent a request to government department about importing of hunting rifle from Russia by private person.

Nope 7.62*45 is real enough, I have a few examples in my collection both in brass and steel.

The 7.62×45mm (designated as the 7,62 × 45 by the C.I.P.) is a rimless bottlenecked intermediate rifle cartridge developed in Czechoslovakia. It is fired by the Czech vz. 52 rifle, Vz. 52 machine gun and ZB-530 light machine gun. The round was later dropped from use when the Czech converted to the standard Warsaw Pact round, the 7.62×39mm

The above is from Wikipedia as I'm being lazy but I recommend a copy of "Cartridges of the World" it covers sporting, obsolete and military rounds, just be wary of the published velocities and loading data.

+1, but it was of course a bad typing & I meant 5.45x39 as an AK plateform caliber.

The 7,62x45 ammo is very very hard to come by, actually it is nearly impossible. So an original Vz52 will sell for GBP 600 while the 52/57 which was chambered for the 7,62x39 will sell for 400. Both are quite rare rifles and hold their value more as a collection piece. I have only shoot the 52/57 of a local friend once. It's a nice funky rifle but was told it was never a popular rifle with the troops as it is such a bugger to clean. If you don't do it properly, the piston freeze/seize-up. The Presidential guard still uses them chromed with the wood blackened as a ceremonial rifle.

If that is the case why does Rusmilitary not get any new ones? You could get a Molot item but KC items are banned from import into the uk by sanction. It does not matter if you are a company or an individual, it's not happening.
