The first time I used a bullet pulling hammer, I was cacking it, as it seemed wrong - I put an old piece of worktop between me and the block I was hitting, and lent round it

Have a good shoot tomorrow :)
Didnt have to pull any this time Dougan, but i do hate pulling bullets.Like you say it just seems so wrong hitting the hammer as hard as you can with a live round inside it and it makes me clench my buttocks every time.
and Robin-its not character building.More like sanity destroying.
I must admit to being a tad twitchy the first time I pulled a bullet apart using a kinetic hammer, it seems very wrong to whack something with a bullet inside onto a piece of concrete. These days I uses a press mounted collet puller.
I do remember building some .303's a while ago and standing them on a flat surface only to notice they wobbled. Ooops! The primers had not been fully seated, so back in the primer tool they went for that final little push to seat the primers. Twitchy? Nah!

Yes and stuck them in sideways whilst using a case holder without a slot in it so I could not get the case out to pull the primer out, I had to bash it out with a flash hole uniformer (Whilst cringing at the same time)
