Mosin M44
Hi All - hopefully attached is a photo of my M44 - it's actually a 1945 not pre-1945 but I hope that's ok in this section?? (It might be a really early 1945 I suppose!!).
Before anyone asks it came with the darkened butt end and with the stock stripped and oiled (Previous owners) but it still shoots nice a straight with a very satisfying bang and muzzle flash !!
I enjoy shooting it and owning something with a bit of history.
Cheers Steve

Steve, Pre-45 means a rifle with an action designed before 1945 and your fine looking M44 is quite acceptable

Nice to see another Mosina being used Tovarisch
Beware though as they can have a tendency to breed!, I am on the look-out for another at the moment.

That's about right, I paid £250 for an immaculate 1944-dated Izhevsk Arsenal example.steveveets wrote:Mine was £250 12 months ago

I'm struggling to find any (within reasonable distance) less than 350 these days, many quite a chunk more! I wish I had bought one 12 months ago when cheaper examples seemed to be everywhere.
I'll find one though!

Re: Mosin M44
Minsterley Ranges have a very nice M38 carbine (no folding bayonet) with an original sling that has been arsenal refurbed into a M44 stock for £300, has a very nice clean bore.Only difference between a M38 and M44 stock is the 44 stock has a shallow relieved channel on the right side that the folded bayonet sits in.RDC wrote:I'm struggling to find any (within reasonable distance) less than 350 these days, many quite a chunk more!
