And people call us paranoid for not wanting these 'professionals' to have open access to system identifying firearms owners wallhead

I read the "gun nuts" reference to mean nutters with guns .... not the law-abiding FAC holders, but the idiots who go off the rails and cause mayhem.

If only....

Anyone with any interest as an enthusiast is regarded by modern parlance "gun-nut"! We even had an NRA representative on here a couple of years ago who argued exactly the same position!!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!
