Interesting and impressive however they did walk it in...

Reminds me of the article I read a few years ago of a couple of chaps shooting Gophers at 1 mile with .308's :)

I believe, in the Sandy Hook trials for the 45/70 they were shooting at two miles with a bullet flight time of around 22 seconds - 1870 ish with black powder.

Pah ! As a cub, us did it with a pea shooter made from cow parsley stems and firing hawthorn berries, against the wind and up-hill !

I used to really p#ss my older brother off with a cow parsley stem and hawthorn berries about ten years ago........I was 34 at the time!!! :good:

A 17% hit rate? Anyone can land a lucky shot. The French military guys with 4 out of 5 hits at over 4k now that is some shooting.
At the King Of 2 Miles match last year, despite the hipe from the 375CT , 408CT and 416 shooters, the only ones to hit the furthest targets were the 50bmg shooters.

If anyone want to shoot a 1 mile target in the UK just drop me a message and come along to the FCSA range days in South Wales.

he said he wasn't going for repeatability?? so he basically admits it isn't accurate and a lucky shot
