So how many magazines is reasonable? 2,4,6?

I think if you are using a rifle that is no longer made then having a spare or two is very sensible, as a mag failure can render a rifle unusable.

The way in my opinion they would go about it would be as they do for moderators.

However, it is absolutely ludicrous to even think of having to put them on a ticket, imagine, you have a few magazines and a couple break, break to the point they can't be used and you need new ones. You would then be unable to use your rifle via magazine feed, and would need to send away for a 1 for 1 variation, taking how long some constabularies are taking for 1f1s at the moment, that could lead to a few weeks without being able to use that rifle.

Apply that to a stalker, who needs his rifle to be able to make money, he could then be potentially be out of pocket until his variation comes back to be able to purchase another magazine.

Absolute nonsense and completely backwards.

Such a move would also create a very dangerous precedent, as it would be a major diversion away from the current pressure baring "part" FAC requirement, ie, assembled ammo, firearms or pressure baring firearm parts.

It would potentially open a whole new area of restriction for the future, spent cases, bullets ... why stop there, stocks, firearm specific nuts and bolts, scopes, the list goes on.

One of my rifle mags has a badly pitted spring courtesy of the previous owner, it seems trivial in the extreme to have this mag subject to FAC conditions when it's barely serviceable. wtf

How do you suggest we fight?
GET TOGETHER - it would make a chnage if ALL organisations got togetehr and did away with their snobbery over which discipline is best / black guns are bad nonsense etc etc!

And for all those "petitions" not one has said GET LOST - NOT HAPPENING! Yeah in the real world it might happen: take a cue from our US cousins and fight back. Ignoring it will NOT see it go away despite what many nicer gentler people think!

These so called police concerns are just bollox! The problem is in the EU NOT the UK, maybe they should get their act together at stay away from the UK. Problem is the UK asskissers just love to overdo anything to blow their ego even higher!

"Stockpiling mags in the UK", get real! No law against how many you have so just why was it a police conversation???

The security people KNOW where the problems are - and it is NOT with the law abiding community!
Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!

Only found out as I told one of my customers that I'd mail him some L4 magazines. He almost had a heart attack as they'd need to be pre-approved & added to his licence. If I just sent them un-announced he'd risk criminal charges & loss of his licence!
...and you risked being locked up these days if you tried it without an Export Licence, so much for our 'European Village'

The EU's proposals are completely and without qualification absolutely preposterous.

Why should we be subject to unreasonable demands and never ending prejudice?

I'm surprised they haven't included stripper clips in their fantasy wet dream.
