Was the one you tried one of the originals that has the .223 size ejection port? Mine was and I have to agree, it was unpleasant to shoot left handed. I think the current/later ones with the smaller ejection ports aren't as badBallistol wrote:As this thread has gathered considerable input from actual users of this weapon, can somebody please enlighten me from a practical perspective.
I have fired one of these, but as a left hander, it was unpleasant to say the least. I am aware that the controls can now be specified for a L/H bias, but what about the blast from the ejection port for a left hander?

I can't rightly remember the details of the ejection port configuration, it was the Uzi mag version, and although I was wearing shooting glasses, the blast and powder residue was tiresome after a few rounds. I was also struck by a few cases, and started to develop quite a flinch.Blackstuff wrote: Was the one you tried one of the originals that has the .223 size ejection port? Re: Alternatives to SGC 9mm
i shoot my uzi version with a brass catcher, and it's no issue shooting it left hand, just a bit fiddly reaching the release as I'm a rightie so my left hand isn't as dexterous as a lefties would be.
I think also the thing that helps is I'm moving over to my own reloads and these shoot a lot cleaner than factory S&B. So no cloud of crap.

Upon request they emailed me pictures of that very gun a few days back. I probably won't be able to afford it now so if anyone wants pics, let me know.HH1 wrote:... no but I have handled one at McAvoy Guns. S/H for sale at £1600.mag41uk wrote:Any one using the 45ACP version?
