I'll have to see what effect a deep clean has had on my Mosin as I got bored (no pun intended) the other week and used a bore solvent for the first time in it.
I usually just flush the barrel and clean and oil as normal but the amount of copper etc that came out of it was unreal, the bore now looks shiny and new(ish) with more defined rifling compared to how it was........but since doing it I haven't shot it so I'll have to see what it's like now.

Maggot thanks for the reply mate. I have to say I agree with everything you have written, everything I am reading on this is saying to just clean it the way the military does and don't use solvent on the barrels. I'll give it a clean today with just oil and shoot it over the next few days or so and see how it goes.

Again many thanks for your reply.

Yep so did I until I started using this stuff. https://www.riflecraft.co.uk/bore-tech- ... -4oz-118ml

Does it just as well as C2R only without messing with water. This stuff works really well.

Guys below is a scan of one of the targets I was shooting at yesterday, this is a five round group at 200 yards using 180gr Sierra Spitzer bullets. It's all crumpled because I just pulled it out of the rubbish bin beside my computer. That flyer at the top was my fault for jerking the trigger.

Yesterday I decided to clean the Enfield, a really good clean stripping out the copper. Took it to the range this morning and it was all over the place again, after about 40 or so rounds the groups are starting to tighten up. So in conclusion I am not going to bother cleaning it until accuracy starts to fall away again.
