Watcher,
Any info on Mr Ingram I think you have to ask RGC about.

Re: Swing Rifles - History for Wikipedia
Swing rifles were produced in 5 marks (I own a mark 5), and at least one sub-mark (my club owns a Mk4H (heavy?) match rifle. Unfortunately I'm not knowledgeable about the differences.
One of the most significant features of the Swing is that it was (afaik) the first full-bore target rifle produced in true left-handed variants.

MK4 H stand for HEAVY. This action was 38mm dimeter and intended for MR shooting. Otherwise, the action was similar.IainWR wrote:Swing rifles were produced in 5 marks (I own a mark 5), and at least one sub-mark (my club owns a Mk4H (heavy?) match rifle. There has been an attempt for a MK6 elsewhere, but this failed lamentably.

Chaps,
I need some more references for my Wikipedia Swing article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swing_Rifles . Can anyone put me onto any articles in things like the NRA Journal or any of the shooting mags (Guns Review and Target Sports)?
I've got RGC's article (for which I'm very grateful) which I have used as the basis for mine.
TIA

You try contacting Eric McGibbon at the NRA Muesum, he worked with George Swenson on the development of the Swing.
Re: Swing Rifles - History for Wikipedia
I did send an e-mail to the museum at Bisley about another Wikipedia article but didn't get a response.
Does anyone have a personal e-mail for Eric?
I have trawled through the on-line NRA Journals so have picked up the interview with Eric and Laurie Ingram's article.

Re: Swing Rifles - History for Wikipedia
Is the Swing action a delightful piece of history or is it still regarded as a desireable action?

Re: Swing Rifles - History for Wikipedia
Heather did mention about the museum and emails that the emails are printed off for the museum guys to read.
Then the answer is written down and emailed back by a secretary.
Maybe try again?
Maybe Heather can help?
