I think people who shoot SOWRs really appreciate a good group with them Rab, but in all fairness thay usually take a lot of practice to be consistantly good with them....in my experience anyway.
My AR just shoots. The No4 has to be shot, as does the M67 (get the grip wrong on a bipod and the group opens up painfully).
I shot the AR mag rested at 300/600 in a club F Class comp a few months ago. The brake was tolerated/laughed at but I did not come last

Very good I have to say although I find myself a bit err....punch drunk after a hundred rounds or so but thats just brakes, the lot comes backwards and the sinuses cop it.
I used to laugh about people using brakes on anything other than wheeled vehicles and .50s but having used one in multipositional (most of my attempts look more like roadkill than anything you should be seeing on any range...avoid or die laughing) I have so say they do the job....I think.
I have the Cav Comp (Cavalry Manufacturing) on my AR. I was in two minds about buying it thinking you get what you pay for. To be honest I was very surprised and impressed with it. It doesn't have a blast like a howitzer, is a lot quieter than most brakes I've used or seen in action and it really keeps the muzzle flip at bay as well. It's one of those brakes that you can shoot with all day without deafening everyone around you and without having crap flying back in your face.

Oh hey I love my SOWR's. Thinking on I actually have two pretty accurate SOWR's, one of them being a No4. The old eyes aren't what the used to be but with a scope mounted on it, that rifle will print nice little one inch and smaller groups at 200 meters. Anything beyond 200 meters and I have to remove my glasses and wear a pair of binos instead
