The final coat of ( hand applied )true oil is a bugger to do as it goes off so quick, if you want a perfect finish get the spray can rather than the bottle.

Thanks........ Do you regret selling your K31 to buy the Garand ?... Does the Old Bill still limit firearm owners to how many guns they can have in the UK nowadays ?

Not if you write a letter to Chief Plod pointing out that collectors of stamps can collect as many stamps as they like, collectors of snuff boxes can collect as many snuff boxes as they like, so where in law is there a restriction on how many items a shooter can collect ? It worked for us.

The K31 was designed to shoot the GP11 round, it's a match made in heaven that you will not beat.

Oh we agree, but GP11 is getting scarce these days. The Swiss haven't made any since circa 1981 and the last batch released to surplus was the 1979 production lot. We understand that the 2 final production lots are being held in stock by the Swiss for their Panzers - which still use 7.5mm coaxial machine guns. Paw loading for the 7.5x55 is tricky, hence being able to shoot a more readily available round in a K31 is attractive...

In reply er, no not for one bit, had trouble here finding GP11 to buy in bulk we did reload using PPU (Privi brass & bullets). M1 is fantastic...... I would say some police forces do but ours are ok just had our renewal visit and the extra ones we have added to our FAC's were given the OK so cant wait for the FAC's return.

It does not make sense that GP11 is hard to get in the UK when it is so easy to get here in Canada. Here it sells for $300 for a black box of 480 rounds, the K31 rifles also cost $300 . It's not worth reloading when you can get quality ammo like that for that price.

Yes, we are. We're a small market and not particularly vociferous. Last time GP 11 was available here it was £68 / 100 rounds.

There are no restrictions so long as you comply with good reason and have security in place commensurate with the risk, I've had over 100 slots on my FAC.

Regarding the market the main problem is the size being so small there just isn't the volume of sales to drive down prices.
