I too am looking at the Howa 1500 in.223, as part of the combo pack. As soon as I purchase and shoot, I shall be in touch.

Re: Howa Mini Action in .223 Rifles
I bought a 1500 in .223 as a combo from Emmett & Stone a few weeks ago. It's mostly all good.
First off, they boresighted it for me better than any I've ever seen. When I went to zero it the first group was only a couple of inches out at 50 yards. It's a joy to shoot. Especially off the bipod and groups well if I do my bit. Gun feels lovely, although the rubberised stock might be marmite for some.
Have only put 50 rounds through it so far, and only out to 100 yards, but very impressed so far.
I didn't have a slot for the moderator in .223 at the time of purchase so picked it up this weekend after getting my ticket back. There is the only downside, when I got it home to fit it the little plastic bushing to fill the gap between the barrel and rear of the moderator is too small. Quick call to E&S and the say ream it out, or drop it back to them and they'll do it or replace it.
So, in all, lovely rifle, shoots well, feels good, package is good value, excellent service. Just a minor issue with a bit of plastic/nylon which I'm sure will soon be sorted.
Oh, the hardcase is quite large it juuuuust barely fits in my old Mondeo boot, so you might want to get a slip for it.
(and the Met managed to mess up the transcription on my FAC - turning a .308 into a .303, so that's had to go back again and all!)
