Hi want to get a good set of .308 dies for my hornady lock'n'load press. Would people recommend Hornady ones or are there better ones that still work well with that system?

You can use the Hornady inserts with most 7/8"X14 reloading dies and Forster are well worth a look. Hannams are the importers and sell direct however you may find them cheaper elsewhere.

I don't think there's much in it unless you're looking at competition dies. Hornady and RCBS as well as Forster are all good dies IMO. Whichever you choose, buy the Hornady Lock 'N Load conversion kit to go with them. I personally like dies with micrometers on the top, they seem nicer to use.

I brought a couple of the L&L kits and an RCBS Rockchucker Supreme back from the USA, fitted the kit tonight and set up my 4 FLS dies, .260 Rem, 6.5 Creedmoor, 308 Win and 44mag, they work very nicely. I also use the Lee Breech Lock system on my other single stage press, there's no real difference between them. I also found there was no difference in the ammunition produced using Lee, RCBS or Hornady dies so I stuck with Lee and all the rifles are capable of shooting better than I can with them.
I only bought the Rockchucker as I bought one of Inline Fabrications Case Ejection Kits http://inlinefabrication.com/collection ... ngle-stage
Managed to mount it on a spare Lee bench mounting plate so it can be quick changed with my other Lee presses as and when needed, 4 screws to tighten and it's ready to go.

I'm having fun making my own dies now a days. I have pretty well sussed neck sizing bushing dies. I'm hoping to have a go at body/full length dies and I have a idea I would like to try for cast boolit seating die stems. All good fun.
