T8 T8ar T4 T4ar ??

#1 Post by ellmerfudd »

Hello everyone, I have decided on one of the following mods because of the extra weight, (target shooting and static vermin shooting) I have a REMINGTON 700sps Tactical 20" .223 And can't decide which one to order T8 T8ar T4 or T4ar ? I'm thinking of the T4 as obviously it only extends length by a couple of inches but does anyone have any experience with the noise differences between the 8 and 4 on their .223 rifles please ?

Are you sure you really want one?

Look at their current policy on replacing them when they rot out.

Any BR-Tuote Reflex™ suppressor of current manufacture, regardless of age or
condition, will be replaced or reconditioned to new, including a new Warranty,
if returned to Jackson Rifles with payment equal to 60% of the current retail
price.
So you can have a moderator that is infamously rusty & liable to having holes blown out of it, and then have to pay 60% of the price to have it sorted a couple of years later.

As above, i wouldn't bother. I had one for less than 3 years and it was already showing signs of corrosion and i put less than 500rds through it and followed the swill-out-with-WD40/light-oil 'maintenance' instructions.

If you're after a reflex style (over the barrel) moderator i'd go for a Wildcat Predator 8 everytime. They're made of corrosion proof materials, are completely modular so you can chop and change the back section length, calibre, number of baffles or thread pitch. They also come apart if you feel the need to clean them.

They are very effective silencers however I have had to chop a couple this year due to corrosion, both were well maintained and regularly dosed internally with WD40 and both had rotted out.

I couldn't hear the difference between the T8 and T4 when shot side by side.

But then I have been around loud bangs for nearly 50 years so what I can distinguish between levels is questionable.

Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.

I am toying with other types of mod,I like the T4 as it only extends rifle by couple inches but also looking at the North Star but don't like the silver finish, but could have it coated I suppose
