AI AE MK1 10 round mags

I've been offered a part ex on my dta for a AI ae mk1. Lovely rifles but only issue I can see is there only a 5 shot mag I believe. Is it possible to cut and weld 2 5 shot mags to make 1 10 rounder?

Not easily as a replacement spring would need to be sourced so add that to Tig welding and the cost of two donor magazines....

There was an 8 shot available for AI/AE Mk1 however they are rarer than hens teeth.

Is it actually possible tho Davy? As if I went ahead is only need 1 10 round mag and as the rifle would come with several 5's I could sacrifice 2 easy enough. If it's not possible it's a kinda deal breaker for me as I need to be able to shoot McQueens properly

man,anything is possible,if you have one spare mag,use the top part only and the bottom from m14 or fn fal,can be done,jb

You can shoot a mcqueens single loaded mate so why not just use 2x5s?

O have shot McQueens with an AI/AE Mk1, just shoot from the first mag and then single feed, just remember to count the rounds as you go.
