Forum rules
Posting of negative comments in the Gunshop section could bring unwanted criticism on the forum, having said that it is important to let members know if dealings with a Gunshop were less than ideal for you. To that end we will allow what will be known as the 'Scotsgun Ruling'

The Scotsgun Ruling:

>Add Gun Shop here<

"As I've yet to have a 'positive' experience there, I'll refrain from commenting further."

Beyond that please take it up with the Gunshop, if you do resolve the issue in a agreeable manner let us know!

This rule applies to the entire forum.

Excellent service from Tim and his family, helped me out on Saturday and happy to order something for me that they don't have in stock at no extra cost.

Best use of an old pub yet.

Yes, McAvoy have always given me a good deal on trade-ins etc, and they carry a decent range of old and new airguns/rifles/ shotguns etc. Their prices aren't exorbitant, either. :good:

I saw them take a large chunk of time explaining different rifles and calibres to a new shooter who was in there seeing what was available for when he finally got his FAC. They were very good with him from what I saw.

Surely it would make sense to comment further? If you feel that the service is lacking, it would be in everyone's interests to explain so people can form a balanced view before choosing to purchase from there.

If you scroll up to the very top of this page and have a look at the "Scotsgun ruling" you'll see the forum rules on this sort of comment.

I've had nothing but good service from the staff at McAvoys.
They can be a bit 'chatty' at times with newcomers to the shooting world and this may entail a short delay but if the advice given saves someone a bit of cash / grief ... then it's worth the wait. Remember also that this is the North West where people actually have time for each other :good:
Anyway, there's plenty of kit in the shop to look at while you are waiting.
