Does anyone make guns in Russian calibres?

Rimmed cartridges like 7.62 x 54R, and .303, are not exactly flavour of the month. There aren't any new build rifles in .303, so why would there be in the Russian calibre?

Nope - aside from the previously mentioned offerings from CZ, Ruger and the AR platform I think you are out of luck.

I wonder were he got 5.45x39 ammo over here?, it is pretty rare and I have only ever seen it listed once.That's the reason nobody bothered bringing 5.45x39 Saigas into the UK, once you'd have one you'd struggle to feed it.

I was referring to the fact that whoever buys that bolt action rifle in a Russian calibre, that being 5.45x39, will struggle to find a sustainable source of ammunition.

The other thing myself and Breacher were referring to was the reference in the advert to the AK-47 being 5.45......which it isn't and never has been.
I think you have been a bit precious in assuming a dig was being made at your post, which it wasn't, we were merely pointing out the inaccuracy of the statement in the seller of the rifles advertisement.

I was going to add that talk of AK47's is a bit incorrect too. Most AK variants people have seen are the AKM's and possibly AK74's with recent events. Sadly there is no good source of 5.45x39 in this country as you say.
