Oakrise's is an Ishy refurb (can tell by the screw half way up the stock)

Accuracy wise what little use I've had of mine has shown me no issues beyond that it is a carbine with a shorter sight radius than a rifle. That being said, I'm not letting off 1-200 rounds of ammo in a short amount of time in a stressful environment.

Finally, anyone know of the validity of the claim about them being issued for Market Garden, never seen any photographic or written evidence to support it.

What do they shoot like, I was always lead to believe that accuracy was a problem?

I always thought of that as an urban myth...my last No5 was lovely affair (regret selling as always) and never noticed any "wandering zero "apart from what my wandering eye caused.

As I understand it the wandering zero myth has been fairly comprehensively debunked now. A lot of people have heard about this supposed issue but there aren't many people who actually own one jumping up and down at the haphazard accuracy of their rifles.

No.5 was being promoted as a replacement rifle for general issue but, at the time, we already had quite a few no.4's and not really enough money for wholesale replacement programme so the suspicion is it was quietly killed off with spurious results to save everyone the bother...
