LBP - Coat Hanger Problem

24" and less, a place to discuss all things handgun related, section 7.3. Long barrelled revolvers, long barrelled pistols and section 5. Overseas contributions are more than welcome.

Il looking at getting something to help me spot my errors!
Its a Contour GPS action camera. I mount on the side of a baseball cap using the goggle band mount (the camera comes with lots of different mounts)

N.B. The camera faces backwards (in relation to the peak of the cap), as if you mount it facing the same was as the peak, it obscures a good 20% of the cameras field of view, wearing the cap that way around isn't a fashion statement, honest! lol

I chose the Contour over a GoPro as (at the time anyway) the GoPro's didn't have a way of compensating for the cant you get when its mounted to your head. i.e. Gopros usually get mounted 'square' on the head so when you cant your head onto a rifle/shotgun stock the picture is no longer level with the horizon. The countour series of cameras have a 180 degree range of movement on the lens so you can put a slight cant on it to compensate - if you look at my videos they are canted when i'm standing normally but level when i'm shooting. If you're shooting a pistol this obviously doesn't matter.

If you're just watching it back on your computer/tv thats pretty much all you need to know. If you're wanting to upload it to Youtube or similar the software you use is just as important as the camera you use. I was originally using Windows Movie Maker as it was free and easy to use but basic, but then they stopped allowing the use of .MOV files, so then switched to Sony Vegas, which you could use to make proper films with but that also meant it was ridiculously complicated to use and i just couldn't find the right settings to get full HD uploads, then my computer self-destructed and i couldn't find the SV install discs so now i'm using iSkysoft which is a good balance between the two.

I know the K22 was great at first. A lot of the Tall trees guys have them but now after a thousand rounds down the barrel, performance not so good.

You will also need a rig once you have a LBP.

Hope we can meet up soon
Hi,

Can you tell me what sort of problems the guys at your club are having with their K22s?

Cheers,

Mark.
