And as they're in the EU no VAT or import duty to pay :)

I'm almost tempted but off to the US later this year so will get my next one even cheaper over there :)
Damn. Those prices have only just come off... after I've paid not far off that new price for a 2nd hand one. Wish I hadn't seen that now ****

Not wishing to add to your annoyance but this is where my next one is coming from on our trip over in November, http://www.4scopes.com/sit-25149.html Just under £560 :)

Guess I'll have to buy my own...! :p
If you get one of the 10-50x60 FTxxx models then there parallax range is 9-55 yds for Airgun Field Target use, so probably ideal for 25m/50m benchrest :good:

Chaps, I'm also looking for a scope at that sort of money. I see the Sightron stuff gets lots of praise here. Please could someone explain why they are so well liked?

I freely admit I know chuff-all about scopes!

Cheers!

Fantastic value for money in terms of build and image quality. Simple as that really :)

In the optics world you usually have to pay a lot of money for optical clarity and/or features. High end scopes such as Nightforce or Schmidt & Bender have great optical clarity and usually loaded with a bunch of features (such as First Focal Plane or fancy reticles) but not everyone can afford the price tag of £1,500+ (that's usually the cost for used scopes...). Scopes made by the likes of Sightron or Vortex give you a lot for you money (in terms of optical clarity and/or features) compared to the high end scopes.

Try looking through these types of scopes and form your own opinion. I've looked through a Nightforce scope and at this moment in time I couldn't justify spending almost three times the cost of my most expensive scope for this type of scope. It will also depend on what type of shooting you do too. The guys from FCSA (50 cal club) had recently competeted in a competition called "the king of two miles" in the USA and some of the UK team were using Sightron scopes I believe, so that should tell you something.

Just to point out I only have the LRTD 1/8moa targbet dot reticle but there are a couple of the members with the moa reticle.
