Nomad shooting
Maybe this has already been done and someone will update me but it would be useful to know whether full membership of one club (probably of similar disciplines) entitles one to visit another club anywhere in the country and pay a green fee. We're all 'singing off similar sheets' surely. For me, based at WNSC and travelling around the country, I would like to know if I can drop in anywhere for a impromptu blast and also whether club guns are available. Obviously you would need ID, certificate and membership card of your home club.

Re: Nomad shooting
It depends on the club. My local smallbore shooting club has a members only policy whereas the two fullbore clubs I'm a member of allow you to shoot if you have an FAC and/or MOD certificate/clearance, the latter only applying to MOD ranges of course. The only way to find out is by contacting the club you wish to visit to see what their regulations are. In that circumstance I don't think you need to prove that you are a member of another club.

When I saw "Nomad Shooting" I thought it would be something else!!!
On a serious note at me local club you can also shoot there if you are a member of another club, have a valid FAC and pay your range fee and club guns are available

Re: Nomad shooting
Many clubs and ranges allow guests who hold FACs to shoot , it just depends on the club's rules and if satisfactory insurance provision is made. This can be either through the host club/range insurance provision or by the guest shooter providing his/her own insurance. No club or range is obligated to accept guests and many do not accept guest shooters for various reasons of their own.
P.S. I too misunderstood the title "Nomad Shooting" and my first thought was of of the shooting clothing company.

Re: Nomad shooting
I believe, and I could be stand to be corrected by the committee, but the local club to you, Dudley Rifle Club, accepts guests, but only those who have and can show their FAC. To expect a club to recognise and legitimise other clubs documents would be asking a little much. Fact is, you could be anybody off the street and have "documents", but how are the range officers supposed to know every document from around the country.
An FAC however shows at the very least that you're a full member of a club or have land to shoot and that the police have done checks on you.
It's the same reason that joining as a probationer needs you to "stand down" for 3 weeks whilst information is submitted to the police to verify there's no outstanding reasons you shouldn't be allowed access to firearms.
There's a limit at DRC that a guest can only shoot as a guest 6 times in a year without requiring to join as a member.
As for other clubs, I'm unsure how they work.
I went and shot over at Minsterley recently - but it's worth noting that this is a commercial club, as is WNSC - opposed to DRC which is a Community Amateur Sports Club. Different rules apply...

Re: Nomad shooting
We (Harrow) are a CASC rimfire club. We allow guests three visits before requiring membership. If you are looking to become a member or known to a member then you just need to sign a declaration that you have no legal impediments to have access to firearms. If you are a "random nomad" we'd most likely want to see your FAC :-)
Who? Me? Really?

Didn't think you were allowed to shoot nomads unless you have an open licence
