Can you clever people recommend any European interweb sites we should peruse for such commodities ? We fancy a 7.92x57, and would contemplate a drilling...
Don't you mean 8x57irs if it were for a double or a combination?

Have a look at www.frankonia.de
www.unifrance.fr
www.sangliers.net (look at Les marques for lots of links to manufacturers).

A drilling is likely to cost an awful lot more than what the Europeans call an express rifle.

I shoot and hunt with a double Beretta o/u 689 rifle and have a few Friends who also hunt with them. mostly in 9.3mmx74r though there a smattering of 8x57r, 30-06, 30 blaser and 375 h&h as well.
Double rifles are becoming more popular in the UK, Due more people going wild boar shooting on the Continent on a regular basis.

Mostly they are of the o/u variety by Browning ,Beretta Chapuis, Rizzini and Zoli and a odd sxs Merkal.
There is a Baikal sxs in 30-06 for sale on the stalking directory if any one is looking for one?.Wilson and wilson is also a good place to look .
www.Naturabuy.fr is a good site to find doubles for sale on as well.

The prices on the Frankonia website seem quite attractive, not just for double rifles but shooting stuff in general ! We saw a nice Merkel Helix which at current exchange rates seems to be about £550 cheaper than the equivalent gun here. Are we missing something ? Our Krautenspeek isn't brilliant so we might have ovelooked something in the pricing structure. As we're in the Common Market now with free movement of goods and services, shouldn't we be able to avail ourselves of the lower EU price ?
