I had one. Second full bore rifle I ever owned. Sold it to a friend and he still has it. From what I gathered at the time, they were made for the Finish paramilitary police who ordered three thousand. Allegedly, Tikka took the contract if 1000 could be sold on the open market. That may just have been the sales pitch given, I paid 675 for it 20 years ago.

It was also with this rifle that I learned there is a difference between 7.62x51 and .308 Winchester. It would shoot 7.62 adequately, would extract the case, but never eject it, no matter how hard you worked the bolt. The empty NATO case would sit on the top of the next round to be fed. .308 on the other shot a storm and kicked case out cleanly!

I never could find a spare mag for it though....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Call me old fashioned and a dinosaur and I am sure it is a superb shooting machine but, to my eyes, that is one butt ugly rifle.
