Re: Have you ever had a variation rejected?
Nothing refused, in fact just the opposite, I have had ammunition allowances increased without prompting however slow and late processing has been a problem in the past
Re: Have you ever had a variation rejected?
Same here, we had a few accidents, but that was down to administrative incompetence and not a refusal.
Re: Have you ever had a variation rejected?
Thanks all. Aside from ammo issues, it looks like variations being refused is a pretty rare event.

Re: Have you ever had a variation rejected?
When i applied for my .223 MARS rifle i asked for the actions of a 9mm lever action* and 7.62x39mm bolt-action** rifle to also be changed to either just 'rifle' or 'M.A.R.S.' and while the variation for the .223 rifle was done (to just 'rifle' as they claimed 'MARS' wasn't in the NFLMS at the time) they didn't change either of the other two and remain as they were now on my FAC. I didn't bother arguing at the time as my .223 was waiting for me and it took 2 months just to get that one sorted out. I haven't had my FAC back to them yet to get the MARS rifle added to the 'Firearms Possessed' section, looking forward to see how it's listed....
Also had solid slug allowance increases turned down twice.
*Durham claims lever-release isn't on the NFLMS even though i've personally seen it on other peoples certificates.
**Durham lists straight-pull action rifles as 'bolt-action' for some odd reason. I'm beginning to suspect their training on the licensing computer system may be a bit lacking...

When I got my renewal come up, my MARS said Semi auto, I asked them to change this for obvious reasons, so it has no action down now near the slot (which I gather is not legally required). Also S Yorks police accept LBR's on LBP slots from what I've seen (I once had a 38/357 long barrel pistol rather than revolver slot, though strangely they do list muzzle loading revolvers as pistols). Id watch and see how they add it, but I made sure they changed it. Got my MARS a year before my cert had to be renewed so potentially it was like that for nearly a year.Blackstuff wrote:When i applied for my .223 MARS rifle i asked for the actions of a 9mm lever action* and 7.62x39mm bolt-action** rifle to also be changed to either just 'rifle' or 'M.A.R.S.' and while the variation for the .223 rifle was done (to just 'rifle' as they claimed 'MARS' wasn't in the NFLMS at the time) they didn't change either of the other two where changed and remain as they were now on my FAC. Years ago, I had a long barrel Ruger with 22RF and 22 mag cylinders and was knocked back by Durham (who I think are much better now) for using it for vermin over land. Ironically now you can probably not be stopped as long as your knitting needle is in place.

When guns are outlawed, only Outlaws will have guns
Re: Have you ever had a variation rejected?
It's just a 22 LR rifle really, isn't it? That's why they make them have the knitting needle to extend the length..I thought?bradaz11 wrote:well pistol does cover revolver. revolver doesn't cover pistolSixshot6 wrote: Also S Yorks police accept LBR's on LBP slots from what I've seen (I once had a 38/357 long barrel pistol rather than revolver slot, though strangely they do list muzzle loading revolvers as pistols).

Who brought in Ruger 22 LBRs? I remember someone was gonna try with blackhawks but it never happened. When did this happen?Gazoo wrote:Years ago, I had a long barrel Ruger with 22RF and 22 mag cylinders and was knocked back by Durham (who I think are much better now) for using it for vermin over land.
