Adding SGC to FAC..
Hi All,
So, have my FAC and being an idiot, I didnt bother to get a shotgun cert at the same time for the extra tenner.. cert has 3 years to run before renewal..
So, having been out a few times and had fun with a shotty, I now fancy one of my own.. question is, how much willI have to pay?... will it be a variation, or will I have to apply for a SGC from scratch and pay the regular fee?..

...or add a Section 1 shotgun to your F.A.C.
I did this for a few years as I could not be bothered to have an SGC as well as an FAC

Re: Adding SGC to FAC..
I made the same mistake thinking I'd be happy with just a sec 1 shotgun on my FAC - wrong!
I believe its a case of apply for the SGC and put up with having two different renewal dates plus extra cost or wait for your FAC renewal and apply for a coterminous cert.
I'm gonna wait as theres still plenty of Sec 1 stuff out there to keep me amused...

I was under the understanding you could apply for coterminous and forfeit the time you have left on FAC so the dates are the same and costs are down...

You can't do it that way but you can foreshorten a SGC so that it becomes co-terminus. So apply for your SGC now and then apply for a co-terminus SGC when you apply for renewal of your FAC.TattooedGun wrote:I was under the understanding you could apply for coterminous and forfeit the time you have left on FAC so the dates are the same and costs are down...

Re: Adding SGC to FAC..
Ah, my mistake then. I knew it worked one way...
Re: Adding SGC to FAC..
Northumbria told me that they can't alter renewal dates on an fac, which is why they shorten the time left on the newly issued sgc to match the renewal date on the fac.
