Gallery Rifle nationals entries??

#1 Post by Daryll »

Has anyone managed to enter the Nationals yet..??

They're on the 29-30th Aug, so little over a month away, and I can't find an online entry for them yet....

The Link on the NRA website doesn't work, and following the link from GalleryRifle.com takes me to a Phoenix entry form on the NRA site..!

Doesn't look like the entry forms have been posted yet...they'll probably go up a few days after the Imperial is done and dusted.

If you go to the calender and click on the Nationals link there's further links to Neil Francis and the Shooting division; either of which would be able to answer any queries.

Don't worry though, the Nationals don't get the same attendance as the SAW or Phoenix, so there'll be no problem with squadding on to the comps you want even a few weeks before the event...

...in the mean time, if you want any general info (courses of fire etc.) just ask here.

Thanks, I'll be patient then....

I wasn't going to compete, then got the email about the Phoenix medals being available until the end of the Nationals. I couldn't be ar*ed to drive down just for a medal, so I may as well compete while I'm there.. :D

All the major, and many of the minor, Gallery Rifle competitions.

To find out which events, take a look at last's years entry form, or last years results, to get a good idea -- might be minor differences, but it's ususally the same year to year.

If you are not sure about the courses of fire for the events on offer, grab a current .PDF version of the Gallery Rifle Handbook (2015 edition), and/or a 2015 Phoenix booklet. PM me your email if you have difficulties locating these, and I'll send them to you.

The GR National is a fun weekend; plenty of comps to shoot, without being quite so busy as the Phoenix in May. No trade stands, though, which is a bit of a pity. I recommend it. As a newcomer to the weekend, I guarantee you a warm and friendly welcome -- not only do we want you to come back, we want you to bring your shooting friends and family too...

David.

Yep, the event details and entry forms are now on the NRA website - Their doing a free 'short range aggregate' for entering the following 5 events; 25m Precision, Timed and Precision 1, Multi Target, Advancing Target and the 1020...ideal courses of fire for someone having a go for the first time (well the 1020 might be a bit tricky...).

Hobbesy - Here's a link to 'Galleryrifle' - http://galleryrifle.org.uk/ - If you go to the 'Handbook' tab, you can download the last few years handbooks; which have all the courses of fire, target types and rules.
