Round nosed bullets in lever?

What are the Marlin's going to say when you spend time with another make of rifle Sim ?

From what I have heard through other forums you can ask for expanding ammo for lever actions for target shooting on the grounds of safety as there is less chance of setting off a primer in the tube

You don't have "ask", para 3.21 of the Home Office Guidance to Police on Firearms Law has always stipulated that semi jacketed flat point bullets and the likes, fall into s1 for use in lever guns to prevent magazine tube detonation. It's been like that since 2002.

Can you expand on "you don't have to ask" I'm not clear on what you mean, as in - my ticket as current is enough to get me semi jacketed flat points in the calibre for my lever action?

Or that should I request it of my FLO - I'll get it granted automatically onto my ticket?

Either way - I'd be intrigued as to how many dealers are aware of 3.21 (copied here for everyone elses benefit):

3.21 Category (xv) refers to ammunition incorporating a projectile that is designed or adapted
to expand in a controlled manner. It is the kind of ammunition used in deerstalking and
vermin control because it is more likely than non-expanding ammunition to ensure a quick
and humane kill. Semi-jacketed soft point and hollow point are typical forms of expanding
ammunition, but care must be taken to distinguish between match target hollow point
ammunition, which has a tiny hole at the front for manufacturing purposes, and true hollow
point. Match hollow point rounds which are not designed to expand upon impact, such
as the Sierra Match King and the Hornady A-Max, are not prohibited. Flat-nosed bullets,
which are designed to prevent a magazine explosion caused, by a pointed bullet resting on
the primer of the cartridge ahead of it when the ammunition is used in a tubular magazine
are also not prohibited. All bullets will distort on impact, but only those which were
designed or adapted to do so in a predictable manner fit this category

I've been buying 350gr Speer RNSP bullets for the past year or so on the 3.21. I showed a copy to my local RFD and he sells them to me. I also checked with BASC and they said it was fine.
