Scotland has just gone insane post 1997, more so than the rest of the country. Its a sad sight too.Fedaykin wrote:I am guessing there would be hysterics from Scottish Antis if somebody tried to register a heritage centre up here. I also think Police Scotland would be hardly helpful in the application process. The SNP would certainly use it as a political argument to try and get control of Firearms licensing from the Home Office. An SNP government getting full control of firearms licensing off the home office is a terrifying prospect for those who participate in our sport.
Even worse with all the fuss that the SNP and their supporters would kick up it certainly would be on the national news.
Add to that the Dunblane families along with GCN and MAG, it would be all:
"Loophole allows people to shoot banned pistols across the country", all of a sudden those heritage sites will be under some very public scrutiny. I hate to say it as somebody living up in Scotland but it is probably not worth the effort for the blowback it might cause for this last bastion of centrefire pistol shooting in the UK.

Re: Pistols or Hunting ?
Scottish shooters are f**ked until the SNP are booted out, which doesn't seem to be likely in the near future.
Maybe if someone could do a public service announcement that Braveheart isn't a documentary it might help things along a bit

They were slight f*** beforehand, the SNP are just a symptom, you have to go further than them to find the cancer. Alot of the politicians themselves while crap (Blair, Brown, Cameron) are also symptoms not causes. Its time to dig deep, real deep.Blackstuff wrote:Scottish shooters are f**ked until the SNP are booted out, which doesn't seem to be likely in the near future.![]()

There's something on a Scottish government website that as good as says "we want to ban even more but the eeeeeeeval Toooooaaarries won't let us".
Nasty, small-minded people.

And some people still insist devolution will not end in tears then? What with the named person and the like Scotland is looking very Orwellian too.Gaz wrote:There's something on a Scottish government website that as good as says "we want to ban even more but the eeeeeeeval Toooooaaarries won't let us".

I'm told that Police Scotland Firearms Licensing have suspended processing any new applications just now and that's before the Airgun Legislation takes place.
Re: Pistols or Hunting ?
can they actually legally do that? Somebody needs to get onto BASC if they can.25Pdr wrote:I'm told that Police Scotland Firearms Licensing have suspended processing any new applications just now and that's before the Airgun Legislation takes place.
Re: Pistols or Hunting ?
Keep it simple campaign to get .22 pistols on to section one not section 7 or any other bo...cks
They are loads of augments justifying their return !
Oyampics for one, lbp's can be owned already so what's the difference if there were shortened
Since only the law abiding can only get an fac their use in crime is a non issue

Re: Pistols or Hunting ?
Its good news that the hunting bill/amendment has gone first as its flushing all the loony bandwagon jumpers out and I get the general feeling there is less sympathy for these people than there was in the late 90's & early 00's. Also handy that its demonstrated the SNP can't be trusted so the push for English/Welsh MP only votes on English/Welsh only bills should help our cause no end. My sympathy to all those shooters north the border (Winters come...)
