AR bolt carrier needs re-coating

As in the title, I need to get my bolt carrier re-coated after it disagreed with my sonic cleaner. Does anyone have any recommendations either for a DIY solution or a gun plumber that can do this for me?

I'd try Dave at Valkyrie or Bradley Arms. Both AR plumbers and do Cerakote/Duracote but will also know about phosphates and all that stuff.

What was it coated with?
I'd like to know so I dont put something with the same coating in my ultrasonic cleaner.

I'm not sure what it was coated with, I think that it was the heat that did for the coating, it was a Maplin sonic cleaner and I had the heater on. It didn't seem to affect brass but took the coating off the carrier.

I think it's fairly common for sonic cleaners to discolour anodised parts. Same with compensators, sights etc.

I wouldn't worry about it.
I doubt your cleaner got hot enough to affect the case hardening and it most likely is a colour change and not a removal of the protective surface.
If you paint it you'll have to be sure that you clean it off the slides or it'll bind in the upper.

If it's steel and not stainless you can do it yourself using black oxide I have used it on my mossberg 500 parts and it's really good I think the kit was £25 maybe more maybe less it was done about 6 months ago so I can't remember just google black oxide kit UK and you will find it if you want pm me your email and I will send you some before and after pics.
