NRA staff competence (to say the least)
Heard Saturday morning in the Bisley Armoury-Range Office:
A newcomer go to have his Target Rifle and trigger weighed.
There is behind the counter two attendants watching the flies flying.
The shooter ask to one of the mens what is the maximal weight allowance for his rifle?
the two looks at each other in a grin of consternation.
Finally, the interpelled reply with some agressivity and as if he was interrupted in an important task:
''You have got to go to the main office, buy the Bible and search in it!!''..
Congratulations, Mr Chief Executive, for the level of formation and willingness of your staff....
This is only one of the few remarks I noticed during my short stay at Bisley Saturday and yesterday....

NRA member care: "you are the member and we don't care".
I trust that you have formally passed this issue onto the "management" Robert?

There are at least two very new members of staff in the Range Office and chances are they didn't know. They may have been told to say that if they don't know something. Better than giving someone the wrong answer!

Your opinion, Karen, not mine, nor those prominent Bisleyans i reported the anecdote...karen wrote:There are at least two very new members of staff in the Range Office and chances are they didn't know. If not competent, or simple bot ttained, he dhould not be left alone in contact with the pinlic.
Moreover, if they were told to say "GO AND BUY THE BIBLE', how shoold one consider the attitude of the manager who passed such an instruvction?

True, best to say they are new and don't know the answer: nowt wrong with that as Karen says. There are at least two very new members of staff in the Range Office and chances are they didn't know. They may have been told to say that if they don't know something. Better than giving someone the wrong answer!
Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!
Re: NRA staff competence (to say the least)
None of us know the circumstances behind the reported remark so the comments from others are unnecessary NRA bashing. There are a great many staff who are polite and knowledgeable and work extremely hard during the Meeting ( I know - I used to be one
!). There could be all sorts of reasons why this was said but I would think that it was said by a new member of staff who didn't know the answer and had maybe heard it said about something else. The Range Office isn't the place to go with the majority of Imperial questions as most are dealt with on Front Counter. If he was actually rude then by all means report it but don't criticise someone if they are new and just don't know!
